Trout Fishing on the Lower Napetipi

The trout species fished are Brook trout which can be caught while fishing for salmon. They are caught from June to September and are mostly in the 1 pound weight range but up to 3 pounders have been caught.

The sea-run speckled usually enter the river system in late July and early August in numerous numbers and have been caught up to 6 pounds, but mostly in the 1 to 3 pound weight range.

Catch and Release Salmon Fishing

Year 2008 we had a catch and keep of 3 grilse,  with a success rate of 5.1 fish per person/day.

Year 2009 was all catch and release for salmon and grilse.  Sport fishers had a success rate of 3.6 fish per person/day average.

Year  2010 our success rate was 2.5 fish per person/day average.                             

 Year 2011 was a 3.1 fish per person/day average with 15% big fish, lots in the 30+ inch range

2012 Rates / Salmon and Trout (Fly In Fishing)

  • $3,500 per person, 6 days fishing( Prime fishing weeks - July 7 to August 18 )
  • $3,000 per person ( trout and / or salmon - June 09 to July 7 & Aug 18 to Sept. 15th)
  • $4,500 per person if a single guide is needed for the week

Rates are accepted in US  funds (taxes are not included in the above rates)

 Camp Information

 

The camp is located on Lac Parame, which is at the north west end of Napetipi Lake. We use ATV's for the trail from Napetipi Lake to Lac Parame, approx. 10 minute ride. The guest house has 5 private bedrooms (linens included), lounge area, screened deck, indoor bathroom with hot water and shower, solar lighting and propane refridgerator.

The guide and storage units has satalite phone service, generator electricity, chest freezers and storage area.

 The menu at the camp includes  fresh local seafoods which may be lobster, snow crab, scallop, halibut, cod and monk fish along with meats and poultry meals. Some desserts are made with local picked berries such as cloudberry(bakeapple), partidgeberry(redberry) along with other great pastry favorites.

Shore lunches can be made at the camp prior to the days fishing or prepared on site by the guides which may include fried trout or freshly picked mussels along with other lunch favorites.

 2012 Year changes Information

A lodgeing set-up will be provided at pool 3 up. A sleeping bag is recomended if guests wish to stay a night.
